[Direct speech-ലെ is, reported speech-ല്‍ was ആയി മാറണം. ഉത്തരങ്ങളില്‍ മൂന്നിലും നാലിലും was കാണാം. നാലാമത്തെ ഉത്തരം ഒരു ചോദ്യവാക്യത്തിന്റെ പദഘടനയിലാണുള്ളത്. Reported speech-ല്‍ ഇത്തരം പദഘടന പറ്റില്ല. പകരം statement-ന്റെ പദഘടന വരണം. മൂന്നാമത്തെ ഉത്തരത്തിലാണ് ഈ പദഘടന ഉള്ളത്. അതായത്, ചോദ്യവാക്കിനുശേഷം auxiliary verb വരുന്നത് ചോദ്യവാക്യത്തിന്റെ പദഘടനയാണ്. ചോദ്യവാക്കിനുശേഷം noun-ഉം തുടര്‍ന്ന് auxiliary verb-ഉം വരുന്നതാണ് statement-ന്റെ പദഘടന.]
