[Do you mind, Would you mind എന്നിവക്കുശേഷം വരുന്നത് ഒരു verb ആണെങ്കില്‍ അത് -ing verb ആയിരിക്കണം. എന്നാല്‍ Do you mind-നുശേഷം ഒരു sentence വരികയാണെങ്കില്‍ അത് simple present tense-ലും Would you mind-നുശേഷം ഒരു sentence വരികയാണെങ്കില്‍ അത് simple past tense-ലും ആയിരിക്കണം: Do you mind if I sit here for some time? | Would you mind if I sat here for some time? മറ്റൊരു കാര്യം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടത് Do you mind / Would you mind എന്നിവക്കുശേഷം വരുന്ന -ing verbനു മുന്നില്‍ ഒരു pronoun വരികയാണെങ്കില്‍ അത് possessive form-ല്‍ ആയിരിക്കണം എന്നതാണ്: Do you mind my seeing a film with her today? ഇവിടെ my seeing എന്നുവേണം. അല്ലാതെ me seeing എന്നുപയോഗിക്കരുത്.]

സമയം അഥവാ point of time വന്നാല്‍ അതിനൊപ്പം since ഉപയോഗിക്കണം. എന്നാല്‍ പ്രവൃത്തി ആരംഭിച്ചതു മുതല്‍ പറയുന്ന സമയം വരെയുള്ള കാലയളവ് അഥവാ period of time ആണ് വരുന്നതെങ്കില്‍ for ഉപയോഗിക്കണം: I have been working in this school for 14 years.]

[Asked, past tense ആയതിനാല്‍ quotation marks-നകത്തുള്ള വാക്യത്തിന്റെ tense-ല്‍ മാറ്റം വരണം. അതിനാല്‍ are എന്ന present tense-നെ was/were എന്ന past tense ആക്കി മാറ്റണം. നാലു ഓപ്ഷനുകളില്‍ (b)-യില്‍ മാത്രമാണ് was ഉള്ളതെന്നതിനാല്‍ ഇതുതന്നെയാണ് ശരിയുത്തരം.]
