2. We will appoint her (as) manager of our company.

She was appointed (as) manager of our company three months ago.
BUT
We must appoint a day to meet again.
Let’s appoint a committee for the enquiry.

3. The post of principal of the theatre school has been vacant for three months.
He eventually rose to the rank of captain.
She held the title of world champion for three years

4. Mars and Earth have orbits which change with time.
Mercury will be visible again in the evening sky in May and June.
