GERUND
ഇതിന്റെ rule എന്താണെന്നാണ് ഒരു വിദ്യാര്ത്ഥി ചോദിക്കുന്നത്.
With a view to, look forward to എന്നിവക്കുശേഷം -ing verb അഥവാ gerund ഉപയോഗിക്കണം. സാധാരണ to-വിനുശേഷം ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് base form of verb (V1) ആണ്. എന്നാല് with a view to പോലുള്ള ചില പ്രയോഗങ്ങളില് gerund ഉപയോഗിക്കണം. ഇവക്കുശേഷം noun-ഉം ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. ഇത്തരം വാക്കുകള് ഓര്മ്മിച്ചുവെക്കുകയാണ് നല്ലത്.
